Summary

IAAF Kids’ Athletics is a grassroots development programmeme which is designed to meet the development needs of different age groups. It is developed with a Universal Design Approach and therefore no matter the level of athlete, or if they have an impairment, the Kids’ Athletics concept can be adapted to suit the needs of the participant. The essential part of the programmeme is to keep it fun for the children.

Success Factors
& Achievements

  1. IAAF makes good use of a strong partnership with national federations – project is usually implemented in collaboration with IAAF, National Federation and local government of the host city. The programmeme refletc.s the characteristics and colours of each country.
  2. IAAF Kids’ Athletic programmeme does not need much cost and location to be held. A square of 50 m is enough to organise the programmeme.
  3. IAAF recognises the need of physical activities in schools and in childrens lives.
  4. Its online resource is easily accessible and free to use once registered
