Summary

FIG governs eight sports, and Gymnastics for All is one of them. Both a discipline and concept, Gymnastics for All is the foundation for all Gymnastics disciplines, physical movement and sporting activities, and offers a world of movement opportunities suitable for all genders, age groups, abilities, and cultural backgrounds. The World Gymnaestrada is one of the major activities, where it is the largest non-competitive gymnastics event held every 4 years.

Success Factors
& Achievements

  1. Whereas most large size events are elite sports focused, World Gymnaestrada focuses on a theme of being inclusive.
  2. FIG makes good use of social networking services, including YouTube, where they sometimes livestream their events including World Gymnaestrada.
  3. World Gymnaestrada is a Gymnastic version of the Olympics, where the manuals in hosting the event are already in place through previous events.
