On March 21, the International Table Tennis Federation Foundation (ITTFF) hosted a Sport for All capacity building training in Leipzig, Germany. Held at the Faculty of Sports Science at the University of Leipzig, the event gathered participants from a range of sport organisations for an engaging and collaborative learning experience. The training was expertly facilitated by Jörg Benner of the European Flying Disc Federation and Mayssa Bsaibes from ITTFF.
A key focus of the session was exploring the difference between Sport for All and Sport for Development. While Sport for All emphasises inclusivity and broad participation, Sport for Development leverages sport as a tool for achieving wider social outcomes. This distinction encouraged valuable discussion on aligning programmes with organisational missions.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in interactive group work, hands-on exercises, and discussions that explored how to embed Sport for All principles within their structures and activities. Tools such as SWOT analysis and target group mapping provided practical guidance for future implementation.
This workshop marked the final capacity building training of the INTERACT+ programme, concluding a successful series aimed at promoting inclusive sport systems worldwide. In total, the INTERACT+ project reached 164 representatives from 89 organisations across 55 countries, equipping them with the tools and knowledge to drive change in their communities.
As the last event in the series, the Leipzig session served as both a learning opportunity and a celebration of progress made, reinforcing a shared commitment to making sport truly for all.
