The INTERACT+ project is proud to announce that the Confederazione Boccistica Internazionale (CBI) has been awarded the Diamond Sport for All Certification, the highest distinction recognising excellence in Sport for All values. This award recognises CBI’s exceptional dedication to promoting inclusion, accessibility and community engagement through sport.
The Confederazione Boccistica Internazionale (CBI) has been awarded the Diamond Sport for All Certification, the highest recognition within the INTERACT+ framework, in acknowledgment of its sustained commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and the promotion of Sport for All values across its international network.
The Diamond certification recognizes international federations that demonstrate excellence in embedding Sport for All principles into their governance, strategy, and practical delivery, ensuring that sport is accessible to people of all ages, abilities, genders, and backgrounds.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Mutlu Türkmen, President of CBI, described the award as both an honor and a responsibility:
“CBI is extremely proud to receive this prestigious certification, which we see as a strong validation of our long-term commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and the universal values of sport. The Diamond level is not only a recognition of past and ongoing efforts, but also a responsibility that motivates us to further strengthen our Sport for All vision across all our member federations.”
CBI has increasingly expanded its focus beyond competitive sport, investing in inclusive programming, grassroots development, and initiatives that position Bocce as a tool for social inclusion, well-being, and community engagement. The award also reflects the impact of collaborative work undertaken through the INTERACT+ project, which has provided a platform for international federations to reflect, exchange, and evolve.
Giorgio R. Barone, INTERACT+ project partner, highlighted the project’s transformative role:
“The INTERACT+ project has offered us a valuable opportunity to collectively reflect on our organization and on the potential we can further develop. The materials produced through the project are supporting an ongoing institutional transition, helping an International Federation historically centered on competition to progressively integrate new educational, social, cultural, and safeguarding perspectives.”
Through this recognition, CBI joins a growing group of international federations demonstrating how sport can serve as a powerful vehicle for inclusion, dialogue, and sustainable social impact.
